Hi, I'm Andy Bains.
I founded Bains Nutrition to give people clear, evidence-based guidance on eating well, without the conflicting advice that makes healthy eating feel exhausting. I know that confusion first-hand, and it's why I focus on explaining the why behind every change.
I studied physiology, psychology, and human nutrition at the University of British Columbia, earning a BSc in Integrated Sciences and an MSc in Human Nutrition. I also receive referrals from Dr. Kanwar Sidhu's (MD) medical office in Surrey, and I'm glad to work alongside your own doctor and care team.
Sessions are offered in English and Punjabi, and I'm at home with both Indian and Western cooking.
Built on science
What we eat, how we move, and how well we sleep form the foundation for success in life. I guide you using proven behavioural and nutritional science, and together we focus on the changes that matter most.
In our sessions, I address your concerns, explain how food affects your wellbeing, and work out sustainable changes that last. There's no need to fight hunger or try fad diets. Success, for me, is simple: adding healthy, happy years to your life.
What it's like working with me
Clients often describe our sessions as engaging and genuinely informative. I'll explain why healthier eating can be hard, what a healthy diet really looks like, and how it applies to the meals you already eat. Then we'll decide on your next steps together.
Expect myth-busting, analogies that stick, and guidance that meets you where you are.
